Anne Richardson
A New York actress, Anne Richardson came to the city to pursue a career on the stage in theatre and musical theatre, until her voice coach - Broadway actress Judith (Jude) Blazer – took one look at Anne and said, “You need to be on the screen.” Jude was right, as Anne’s first paying gig in New York was playing an actress who tries to help David swindle Kelly and her brother out of their inheritance on One Life to Live. Anne has also worked on All My Children, The Guiding Light, and As The World Turns, as well as the New York rite of passage, Law & Order (thank you Dick Wolf).
Anne fell in love with film as a medium after scoring her first supporting role as a coked up girlfriend in the indie Johnny Hamburger. Her favorite experiences in film include playing the lead Karen in Helio San Miguel’s Blindness as well as a “don’t blink or you’ll miss it” moment as the stewardess who Steve Martin climbs over in The Pink Panther remake.
A huge believer in developing her craft, Anne studies with Seth Barrish and Lee Brock at The Barrow Group (TBG). Allen Coulter (director of Hollywoodland and The Sopranos) describes TBG’s teaching as “the smartest, least pretentious, simplest and most effective techniques I’ve ever come across.”
Favorite theatre roles include Anya in The Cherry Orchard, Gloria in Lorraine Hansbury’s The Sign in Sydney Brewstein’s Window, and being directed by Actors Studio/Broadway legend Salem Ludwig in Dress Uniform. She still studies voice with Jude Blazer, and hopes to play Jude’s daughter very soon in the new play Whoremone, by Stan Richardson (same name, not related). Anne is a New Jersey-raised thespian where she graduated from Chatham High School. She also has a B.A. in Theatre and History from Baylor University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
